Apple Butter BBQ Spare Ribs

This easy sweet & savory BBQ sauce, made with Musselman’s Apple Butter, is perfect on slow cooked spare ribs, chicken or beef.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork spare ribs
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup MUSSELMAN’S® Apple Butter
  • 1 3/4 cups barbeque sauce (18 oz)
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 medium apples peeled and sliced

Directions

  1. Step 1
    Lightly spray slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. Step 2
    Salt and pepper both sides of the ribs to taste then set them in the slow cooker.

  3. Step 3
    In a medium size bowl, mix together the Musselman's Apple Butter and barbecue sauce until well combined. Pour the sauce mixture over the ribs.

  4. Step 4
    Top the sauced ribs with onion slices and apple slices.

  5. Step 5
    Cover and cook on low for about 7 hours.

Serve with baby red potatoes and cooked carrots.

    This was by far one of the best recipes, I followed the recipe but substituted tablespoon of brown sugar for the Apple slices.
