Why make the usual apple pie? Pie bars are perfect for a party or tailgate. Packed with the Fall flavor of Musselman’s Apple Butter.
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease of 9x13 pan with non-stick spray.
Step 2
Place diced apples in a large mixing bowl. Add apple butter, brown sugar, and vanilla and mix until well combined and apples are evenly coated.
Step 3
Unroll one pie crust and place it on the bottom of the pan. Slowly stretch it out so it covers the bottom of the pan. May have to cut some edges off.
Step 4
Add your apple filling on top of the pie crust.
Step 5
Take your second pie crust and roll it out with a rolling pin. Trying to make it the same size as the 9x13 pan.
Place your second pie crust on top of the apple filling and tuck down the edges to cover all of the filling.
Step 6
Topping: In a small bowl, whisk the egg white until foamy and brush over top of the pie crust. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in another small bowl and sprinkle evenly over pie.
Step 7
Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes until crust is golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool for an hour.
Step 8
While cooling, make your glaze by combining the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl and whisk until smooth. Drizzle over bars and serve.
Try serving hot with ice cream on top.
